HEADTEACHER at Barnwell School, Richard Westergreen-Thorne, is celebrating a bumper crop of impressive A level results in his final year at the school.
Mr Westergreen-Thorne, who has taken early retirement, said: "We have had over 100 students taking A levels this year and our results are our best ever overall.
"The pass rate has not been calculated yet, but it is in the high 90s.
"All the hard work has paid off, with excellent results across the board."
High achievers include Louise Warman who secured four As and one B and is off to the University of Bristol to study maths, Graham Beake who gained four As and is going to study physics at Southampton, and Robert Headington who achieved three As and one B and is yet to decide which university offer he is going to accept.
