A town centre manager is stepping down from his role next week.

ff Murray Fastier will leave his post as Baldock town centre manager next Friday, July 18, as the Baldock Town Partnership undergoes a “restructuring” process.

The BTP is hoping to appoint a new town centre manager in around six months but in the meantime the directors of the company, which oversees town centre projects, will handle the co-ordination of events in Baldock.

Mr Fastier was given the job of town centre manager in 2009 but the position became a part-time role on June 23. The post is funded through North Hertfordshire District Council.

BTP chairman James Lunnon said: “We have the support of the Baldock area committee at the council and we are looking to move things forward with this restructuring of the partnership.”
