STAFF members from a supermarket will undertake a renovation of a memorial garden which stands as a tribute to six factory workers.

On November 7 a team from Tesco Baldock Store and Tesco Head Office, in conjunction with the Royal British Legion, will revamp the garden which is situated on the edge of the Tesco Baldock store grounds.

The grounds were built in the 1950’s, and is a tribute to six Kayson Bondor workers, the factory which previously occupied the site, who gave their lives in military service during World War 2.

A spokesman for Tesco said: “As we enter the season of remembrance for all those who have lost their lives in conflict, Tesco feel it is an important to reflect on the history associated with the Baldock store and remember the people that have contributed so much to its heritage.

“Tesco have also been in consultation with Baldock Town Parternship whom were very pleased to hear of its intentions to work on the garden and would like to assist in other community projects where possible. “I’d like to say thank you to the Royal British Legion and the Baldock Town Partnership for lending their support,” he added.
