Emergency crews tackled two car fires in Letchworth last night.

Personnel from Baldock & Letchworth Fire Station, based in Baldock’s Weston Way, first dealt with a car on fire in Letchworth’s Bursland after getting the call at 11.49pm last night.

Two hours later at 1.57am, they went out again to handle an abandoned car that had been set alight in a field off Western Way – on the northern edge of Letchworth.

The fire and rescue service is investigating both fires as delibrate.
