Firefighters are on the scene on the A505 between Baldock and Royston to deal with a serious car fire near the Weston Hills tunnel.
The car, which according to a witness was “completely alight”, is on the eastbound carriageway heading towards Royston.
A crew each from Baldock & Letchworth and Royston fire stations are on the scene to tackle the blaze.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said they were called at 8.34am, and nobody needed to be rescued from the car when the firefighters got there.
