A LEISURE club has raised £75 for charity following a successful World War II dress up day and tea party.
Members of Hitchin Leisure Club dressed in 1940s attire, cooked an array of desserts including strawberry sponge cakes, scones and gateau to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
Some of the members also knitted scarves in aid of the charity.
Cynthia Parker, a member of the leisure club, organised the party after she read a magazine article about a fundraising event for the same charity.
Mrs Parker said: "It was brilliant, a wonderful afternoon. Everyone was wearing beautiful hats and clothes and it was brilliant fun. I'd definitely do it again."
Mrs Parker is now hoping to organise a similar charity event for the harvest festival in September.
