A local building company has won a major award.

Potton Ltd, near Sandy, will be presented with the Investors in Excellence Award from Hilary Goldsmith, chairman of East of England Excellence today (Thursday).

Investors in Excellence is a pioneering programme designed by Midlands Excellence and awarded to businesses who achieve a standard of all-round excellence in all areas including leadership, processes, people and customer results.

Among the key factors for achieving the award was Potton Ltd's excellent rating in terms of their positive impact in education, employment as well as community and charitable support.

The company employs around 125 people, the majority of whom are from the local community. Staff turnover is extremely low and many have over 25 years service, some even go on to introduce the next generation of their families into the business.

Nigel Hollis, managing director at Potton Ltd said: "Potton are delighted to have achieved this standard of excellence.

"The presentation marks the culmination of five years work by 125 members of staff, all of whom have worked hard to ensure that every aspect of Potton's business activity is focused on business excellence."

Potton Ltd is known throughout the UK for their work in the self-build industry.
