A Stevenage bookmakers was the target of an attempted armed robbery last night after a man entered the store with a suspected handgun.
Officers were called at 8.50pm on Saturday to reports of an attempted armed robbery at Ladbrokes in The Glebe, where a man had entered the shop holding what was believed to be a handgun.
A member of staff inside the bookmakers fled the scene and called police. He was unhurt.
The offender then left empty handed. No arrest has been made yet.
