Margaret Edmonds told of her project in Nicaragua - to teach 12 children who worked on the rubbish tip to find things to sell in order to help support their families and thus were unable to go to school. Slides were shown of them, their homes (shacks with earth floors) and surroundings. They heard how in just three months Margaret found them, taught them and actually managed to get them all into school. This ranged from getting their mothers to obtain birth certificates for them, helping them to find alternative ways for their families, including sponsorship, getting school uniform and getting schools to accept them
