The loss of quite a few people who have contributed a great deal to the village life. Robert Chandler was well known as a butcher at Crumps in the village and was also involved with both the cricket and football clubs and was often seen painting the lines before matches. For many years he unstintingly ran the youth club twice a week, usually single handedly and is remembered for his contribution to the youth of the village. Robert died at the premature age of 63, leaving behind his wife Hazel, sons Matthew and Daniel and mother Irene.
