Defender completes clean sweep of awards wins
JON ASHTON has completed a hat-trick of award wins this season after winning The Comet Player of the Year award.
The defender had already won both the Players’ Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year awards prior to winning The Comet award.
Ashton came second in the online poll, behind surprise winner Peter Winn, but the former Grays man’s impressive performances throughout the season saw him complete a personal hat-trick when the player ratings awarded in the paper were taken into account.
Midfielder John Mousinho, in his first season at the club, came third.
