POLICE are treating a fire that destroyed two cars at a garage as arson.
The fire was on land at the Jack Bygraves garage in London Road, Biggleswade, on Thursday night where the cars had been stored pending going on sale.
Police say that at around 10.30pm two men were heard talking and laughing on the site by a local resident and soon afterwards the cars were torched.
Pc Hayley Robinson of Biggleswade police, who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: "An accelerant was used to start the fires but at the moment we have no idea what the motive was behind setting fire to the vehicles.
"In the past vehicles have been damaged at the site but we are now appealing for anyone who was in the area between 10.30pm and 11 on Thursday to contact us immediately."
Anyone with information can contact Pc Robinson on 01234 842508 or 01234 271212.
