A flat that was burgled and vandalised a week ago has been subjected to an arson attack.
The home in Ascot Crescent was targeted at around 2.50pm on Friday when a fire was lit in a stairwell. Fire crews were at the scene within five minutes and extinguished the flames by 3.10pm.
No one was hurt in the incident.
Police are already investigating an attack on the premises in which graffiti was written on walls, and furniture and electrical goods were vandalised after a break-in sometime between April 20 and 22.
Herts Police appealed for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area either on Friday or over the previous weekend to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
