An army of supporters have answered the calls of a family who were in need of financial help to be at the side of their 10-year-old son who is receiving life-saving treatment in the United States.
At the end of March Harley Hall – who was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year – flew off with his mum and dad to Oklahoma for two months of treatment.
Although the proton therapy treatment is paid for by the NHS, the family needed to raise an extra £10,000 to support them while they are across the pond, an amount which is a little over £350 away from being achieved.
Harley’s school – the Garden City Academy – led the way earlier this month by wearing blue in honour of the youngster’s favourite colour and raising more than £1,000 with a series of fun and games events.
Further down the line, there will be a Help for Harley day at Jackmans Community Centre between 6pm and 12am on Friday, April 22, featuring live music, face painting and a raffle.
Harley’s dad, Jason Hall, said: “Thank you everyone for all the help.
“Harley began his treatment on Monday and everyone at the ProCure centre are absolutely brilliant.”
