Armed robbery at Stevenage supermarket

A HANDGUN has been used in an armed robbery which took place earlier today (Thursday)

TWO robbers, one brandishing a handgun, targeted a supermarket this morning (Thursday) and made off with some cash.

Police were called to the Co-op in The Hyde, Stevenage, at 6.40am.

Four members of staff were working at the time, and all were unhurt.

A cordon has been put in place around the immediate area while police carry out their investigations.
