A house in Arlesey has been shut down for three months after police discovered what is believed to be a quantity of class B drugs and drugs paraphernalia yesterday.

Police carried out a drugs warrant on a home in St Peters Avenue, which led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man and a 24-hour closure notice on the house. Today, the closure order was extended to three months after an application was granted in court.

PC Sally Bonham said: “Our team is dedicated to keeping our residents safe and we treat all reports of drug activity and anti-social behaviour seriously.

“We are happy with the court’s decision to close this property, as activities there were known to be a nuisance to the local community.”

The 44-year-old man, from Arlesey, has since been released under investigation.

A second person found in the location was safeguarded and offered appropriate support.
