Ardeley St Lawrence Primary School has welcomed its newest member of staff, Miss Honey the Labrador puppy.
Miss Honey has been visiting the school to help with reading and mental health.
Headteacher Karen Connolly said: “At the moment Miss Honey is just getting used to being in school and around the children.
“She loves all the fuss and, when she gets older she will be helping the children with reading and relaxing.
“Miss Honey is a part of our new mental wellbeing strategy. We believe that children need to learn ways to stay mentally healthy.
“By starting early, we hope that the children will develop a bank of personal resources that will help them in the future. Already, Miss Honey is a huge success in her role.”
Parents looking for a place for their child are welcome to come along to meet Miss Honey and tour the school at an open morning next month.
