POLICE are appealing for information after a man was found dead this morning (Wednesday).

The 48-year-old who was found just before 7am on Tilehouse Street is thought to have been living rough in the town.

Officers are not treating his death as suspicious but want to trace his last steps. He was wearing a khaki jacket, army-style camouflage trousers, black boots and a black woollen hat.

Detective Sergeant Dave Ramson said: "If you may have seen him in the area near the library and Payne's Park on Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning I would ask that you contact me as soon as possible via the non-emergency number 0845 3300222.
