POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following an armed robbery at a jeweller's in Stevenage High Street on Friday.
Three men entered Van Kloof jewellers at about 1.15pm.
One man threatened a member of staff with a handgun while the other two stole some items that were on display.
They then made off in a light-coloured Ford Focus, with 56 registration plates, which they had parked outside.
This was later abandoned on Southsea Road where they changed to a dark-coloured Audi with 07 registration plates.
The suspects are described as white men in their early 20s. They were wearing dark clothing.
DC Gerry Ward, investigating, said: "The vehicles were in Stevenage together for at least two hours prior to the offence.
"I am appealing for any witnesses to the vehicles at this time, the robbery itself, or events around Southsea Road and the Audi afterwards."
Anyone with information, call DC Ward on 01438 757043 or the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers (an independent charity) anonymously on 0800 555111.
