A road was closed when police discovered a horse on the loose this morning (Friday).

The animal was discovered just off the A602 Ware Road, in Whempstead, between Ware and Stevenage at approximately 4.53am.

Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road police tweeted: “Currently trying to catch a loose horse just off of the #A602 #Herts #WhoaNelly.”

The horse was captured and has been moved to a temporary holding place while the owner is tracked down.
