Appeal for criminal damage to Hitchin church

POLICE are appealing for information after an incident of criminal damage resulted in a broken stained glass window at a church in Hitchin last week.

A window and security light at St Katherine’s Church on Arlesey Road, Hitchin, were damaged on Tuesday December 14 after someone climbed on the roof just before 6pm.

The offender then made off from the scene in an unknown direction.

The incident caused a significant amount of damage and police are asking anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area to get in contact by calling the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222, citing crime reference number G1/10/3622.
