An appeal has been launched to trace a man in connection with a robbery that occurred on Thursday.

At approximately 8.45am a man entered the One Stop shop in Broadwater Crescent. He walked up to the counter and produced a knife and threatened a member of staff to hand over money. The cashier handed over some money before the offender left the store. The man was not injured.

The suspect is described as an Asian or mixed race male who was around 5ft 6ins tall. He was carrying a yellow JD sports bag.

Detective Constable Neil Davies is investigating and said: “As you can see from the CCTV image, the suspect had his face well covered and I am confident he would have stood out to anyone who was in the local area at the time. If you were around the Roebuck shops area that morning and believe you saw this person, please contact me with information. It is possible they were in the area for some time prior to the incident.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Davies via the Herts police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number E1/14/1035. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
