A Hitchin church is offering voters the chance to meet two of the leading candidates in next week’s general election on Sunday night.
The Hub Church is hosting A Night of Politics at the town’s Market Theatre, with Conservative Peter Lilley and Labour’s Rachel Burgin both confirmed. Project co-ordinator Rebecca Day said: “As well as a live debate, there will be a chance to grill the candidates and ask them questions.
“We think this is going to be a really interesting evening and beneficial for voters who are currently undecided, especially the younger generation.”
The event starts at the Sun Street venue at 6.30pm.
All five candidates for the Hitchin and Harpenden parliamentary seat answered questions at a hustings event organised by Churches Together in Hitchin last week.
