A 15-year-old boy suffered a head and neck injury whilst playing in a football tournament this afternoon.
The East of England Ambulance Service was alerted to the Arena, in Norton Road, Baldock at 3.24pm. Ambulance paramedics from Letchworth GC were quickly at the scene to treat the boy who is from the United States.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident, said: "The young lad received an injury to his head and neck. Paramedics decided to call upon the assistance of the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance.
"The lad was checked over by a doctor and land paramedics and following this, he was transported to the Lister Hospital by a land ambulance."
The air ambulance landed on the full size Astro Turf pitch close to where the patient was being treated.
