MORE than 600 people attended the Weston Village fete on Saturday.

People came in their droves to visit the stalls, indulge in a barbecue and unwind in the beer tent.

There was also plenty to keep the children occupied, including a bouncy castle and carousel.

Event organiser, Nina Fletcher, said: "It was excellent. Lots of people turned up and had lots of fun.

"The cow milking competition was new this year and was a particular success.

"The bottle stall was also a great success and the beer tent was obviously popular.

"We got a lot of support and people came from quite far."

The money raised, which currently stands at £4,000 but which has yet to be finalised, will go towards the upkeep of the parish church and Weston Primary School.
