Fundraisers will get muddy for a ruddy good cause at Knebworth Park this month as part of the annual Muddy Mayhem 5k obstacle run.

Run, jog, clamber, crawl, climb – it’s all part of the gruelling route around the scenic venue in aid of Letchworth-based Garden House Hospice Care, which serves the communities of North Herts and Stevenage.

More than 700 runners took part in last year’s inaugural event, smashing a £25,000 target to raise more than £55,000 – and the hospice has called on fundraisers to beat that total this year.

The first to cross the line last year was Joe Timpson from Stevenage, with Alex Efford the fastest in the youth category. Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue won team honours.

Tickets for th event on Saturday, March 17, cost £80 for a team of four adults, £25 for an individual adult, and £17 for youths aged 14 to 17 (who must run with a participating adult).
