This month it will be covered with scaffolding and undergoing essential repairs. As well as the regular ringing of the bells, the tower holds the only working Carillon. This mechanism plays tunes on the bells every four hours, and is the only working one in Bedfordshire, so it is absolutely vital to preserve the tower. Money has been raised in the Repairs and Restoration Fund but considerably more is needed to cover the estimated £40,000 cost. If you have a fund raising idea or could make a donation please contact Rev Mark-Aaron Tisdale 01462 850150, Arthur Clark 01462 850220, Anne Sullivan 01462 817491or Kevin Gray 01462 812820.
