A TEENAGE dancer is celebrating after being named a runner-up in the UK Hip Hop Championships.
Alfie Parker, 13, from Chells Manor in Stevenage, won the trophy in the 13 to 17 freestyle category.
Barnwell student Alfie, who performs under the name Sonic, has been dancing since he was about eight and currently has lessons with Street Dance Productions.
At the competition at Watford Coliseum, he had to perform in a dance battle where he had just 25 seconds at a time to show his skills.
Street Dance Productions principal Eric John said: "It was the best he's ever performed.
"He had just 25 seconds and he produced quality in the time he had. It was very good."
A video of Alfie dancing is on the Street Dance Productions websitewww.street
