Aleksander Mileusnic took to the stage in front of Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Welwyn Garden City’s Alesha Dixon, singing a swing version of the White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.

The 23-year-old, who said on the show that he worked for “Hertfordshire council”, made it through to the next round after receiving a standing ovation from all four celebrity judges.

Speaking after the performance, judge Alesha said: “The whole performance was charming. It was seductive, it was alluring, it was lovely”.

Head judge Simon added: “I actually feel like we’re watching a star being born.”

Many BGT fans felt the same, taking to Twitter to praise his performance.

@Sabrinadelphine posted: “The version of Seven Nation Army that #AleksanderMileusnic sang on #BGT was simply amazing. I would quite happily buy an album of his if all the songs on it were like that.”

@RickysFlower wrote: “Loved this performance so much! Hope you go far @Aleksander_Mile!”

And @Cathj94 said: “There’s definitely a market out there for Aleksander Mileusnic seeing as @michaelbuble only comes out at Christmas time! Amazing audition.”

This is not Aleksander’s first TV talent show appearance as the former Stevenage Leisure Ltd lifeguard made it to the quarter finals during the first series of The Voice UK in 2012 when he was just 17-years-old, under the name Aleks Josh.

Before his audition this time around, Aleksander said: “I’m extremely nervous because it has been a while since I’ve done anything on this level.

“Finding out I’m going to be a dad was a massive blessing.

“I obviously want to give my new family the best life I can give them, so a quarter of a million pounds would be life changing, that’s why I’m here at Britain’s Got Talent.”

Aleksander will now have to wait until later on in the series to find out if he will make it through to the live semi-finals.

Britain’s Got Talent is now in its 12th series. Winners traditionally win a cash prize and are given the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance in front of members of the royal family.
