MOCK ASBOs have been SLAP-ed on an airport by children campaigning against its expansion plans.

The ASBOs, which certified that "Luton Airport makes an outstanding contribution to noise pollution and global warming", were handed over to an airport duty manager on Saturday.

Over 100 members of Stop Luton Airport Plan (SLAP) and other campaign groups went up to the terminal building to hand over the document.

Marcus Powell, one of the founders of SLAP, said: "The idea was that kids could turn the tables as they are normally the ones who get ASBOs. I thought it was a nice idea that they could serve one themselves.

"Thirty or 40 children gave ASBOs to the duty manager and he gamely accepted them with a half smile on his face.

"We were very pleased with the turnout, especially on the morning of the England game, but it shows how strongly people feel about it.
