An air ambulance has landed in Letchworth to attend to a woman who was struck by a train.

Emergency services confirmed Letchworth railway station will be ‘closed for hours’ and there will be delays on the Great Northern line until about 2pm between Hitchin and Cambridge. Replacement buses have been ordered, and a shuttle service will run between Royston and Cambridge at seven minutes and 37 minutes past the hour.

Paramedics are currently treating the woman, who was hit at about 10.30am, for injuries at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
