The road had been closed to all heavy goods vehicles and smaller vehicles were diverted since 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday) after the discovery of human remains.

A man's severed leg had been found by a member of the public in a field near Cumberlow Green.

The investigation by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police major crime unit continues and they are expected to make a further statement later this afternoon.
