POLICE lifted the restrictions on the A507 at noon today allowing all traffic to pass freely between Baldock and Buntingford for the first time in over 19 hours.

The road had been closed to all heavy goods vehicles and smaller vehicles were diverted since 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday) after the discovery of human remains.

A man's severed leg had been found by a member of the public in a field near Cumberlow Green.

The investigation by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police major crime unit continues and they are expected to make a further statement later this afternoon.
