Stepping Stone Pre-School in Knebworth often go out for lunch to local restaurants but last week staff decided the four-year-olds should have a Chinese take-away courtesy of Ming Che in the village.
Julie Ansell, a pre-school assistant, said: "It is important that we explore each others culture and celebrate all the things that make us the same and all the things that make us different."
Before their lunch the children made lanterns, practised using chopsticks, and learnt about the traditions that surround the Chinese New Year.
