A GROUP of students who spent the winter months restoring a dinghy have re-launched it.
The Year 10 students from Heathcote School, Stevenage, restored a Mirror sailing dinghy, which they named Sponge-Bob, and new headteacher Edward Gaynor poured champagne over it before it splashed into Fairlands Lake.
The bright yellow boat will be the focus of the school's sailing programme at the lake over the new season.
Teacher Andrew Morton said: "The project has been a very interesting one. The students have had to acquire new skills in restoring the boat, as well as in teamwork and water skills.
