STAFF at The John Henry Newman School have praised their students for achieving nearly a 100 per cent pass rate.
Deputy head Jane Goring said: "We achieved 99 per cent grades A to E, of which 56 per cent were grades A and B.
"We are delighted with this year's A-level results. There has been more than a 10 per cent increase in the highest grades compared with last year and practically 100 per cent pass rate.
"The students and staff have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve this success, which could never have been achieved without the exceptional support of our parents. We were particularly pleased with achievements in the arts subjects, having been awarded arts specialist status this year.
