TEARS and cheers of delight flowed at Hitchin Girls' School as pupils received their A-level results.
"I am sufficiently happy with the results," said headteacher Sally Edwards.
"I am delighted for all the pupils because they have worked so hard and for the staff as well
"Pupils have achieved what they are capable of and we are very pleased with the results which are about the same as last year.
"There has been a lot of excitement and a few tears among the pupils. We are well pleased by what our pupils have achieved."
Unfortunately, it was impossible to get any reaction to the results from the Priory School, Hitchin, as the headteacher was on holiday and his deputy was unavailable.
