The headteacher of St Francis’ College in Letchworth is ‘thrilled’ to see a sharp increase in the amount of top grades secured on A-level results day.
All pupils at the Broadway-based girls school passed their exams with more than a quarter bagging A and A* grades.
The school was also pleased to report that 54 per cent of all grades recorded came out as either A or A*.
Star performers included Louise Balcombe who received three A*s and head girl, Hannah Danbury, who will be attending Oxford University.
Head Bronwen Goulding said: “I am thrilled with the success of the girls this morning. Such an outcome is a testimony to their commitment to their studies.
“I am delighted to share in their excitement. I am so pleased that the college and its staff have prepared the girls so well for the future.”
Louise said: “I never dreamed that 3 A*s would ever been possible. I am really excited to be heading off to university, but the college will always hold a special place in my heart.”
