A spring ball in honour of Garden House Hospice Care patients has raised more than £35,000 for the charity.
Nearly 200 guests gathered at Offley Place Country House Hotel on Saturday in support of the Letchworth-based hospice, which provides palliative care to those living in North Herts and Stevenage.
Attendees were treated to drinks, a three-course meal, and entertainment by comedian and after-dinner speaker Adgar Brown, harpist Plum Hewitt and North Herts band Pink Champagne.
Hospice CEO Sue Plummer said: “The ball was an evening of celebration and remembrance of the patients who have passed through Garden House Hospice Care.”
The hospice is also organising afternoon tea at the House of Lords on July 10. The event will be hosted by Baroness Finlay of Landoff, with a Q&A session with Lord Julian Fellowes – the creator of Downton Abbey.
