A woman has been arrested after two others were assaulted during a "road rage" incident in Stevenage.

The incident occurred in Scarborough Avenue near the junction with Clovelly Way at around 9am on Friday (June 26).

Three women were involved in an altercation, during which two women were assaulted by a female suspected driving a silver Corsa.

A 27-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of ABH, criminal damage and threats to kill in connection with the incident.

She has since been released on police bail.

Police are now appealing for two witnesses to come forward, one of whom reportedly tried to break up the altercation.

Investigating officer DC Alan Fenwick said: “We know that another driver stopped at the scene and tried to intervene.

"This was a man in a white Audi – possibly an A3, who stopped and tried to break up the altercation.

"He had a female passenger in his car at the time, and we are keen to trace them both as they could have information which may help our investigation.

"If you witnessed the incident, or if you are the individuals from the white Audi, please contact me direct via email Alan.Fenwick@herts.police.uk."

Those with information can report it online or by calling 101 quoting crime reference number 41/59658/26.
