Olympic swimmer Becky Adlington is offering half-price swimming lessons to help save lives.

The lessons are available to children in Hitchin this summer through Swim@ Kingshott, one of Becky Adlington’s national swim school locations.

Running until September, the scheme aims to improve water safety among children aged 3 to 11, supporting the national message of Drowning Prevention Week.

It follows recent tragedies in which at least 19 people, including children and teenagers, died in open water during hot weather.

Ms Adlington said: "Launching this offer across our swim schools is incredibly important to me.

"Swimming gave me so much in life, but more importantly, it’s a life-saving skill.

"With so many tragic incidents happening in open water, it’s more important than ever that children feel confident and safe in the water.

"This is about opening doors to easier access to lessons, building confidence, and helping save lives."

Lessons will be delivered by trained instructors using a child-centred approach focused on fun and water safety.

Swim@ Kingshott is one of more than 30 locations across the UK taking part in the scheme.

The discounted lessons are available to new customers only and bookings can be made at www.swim.co.uk/kingshott.

Spaces are limited due to demand.
