A woman fell and broke her arm after a 'dangerously out of control dog' jumped at her in Codicote, it has been confirmed.

Between 11.55am and 12.15pm on June 1, the woman was walking with another person near Codicote Bottom Farm.

A dog jumped up at the pair at the junction with Kimpton Road and Heath Hill, causing the woman to fall over and break her arm.

The dog's owner was described as being a white woman in her late 40s or early 50s with her hair tied back. 

The dog was said to be a medium-sized animal of a brown/red colour and looked like a Labrador, according to Hertfordshire Police.

Police have launched an appeal and are calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
