A Hitchin-based charity is aiming to raise £30,000 in just 30 days.

Mission Direct hopes to meet the target through its June fundraiser, Mission Maker Month.

The cash will support its work in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, where it is focused on building schools.

The charity has already raised £10,000 and is calling on the public to help reach the final target by June 30.

Louise Archer, senior administrator at Mission Direct, said: "There are loads of ways you can get involved.

"You can donate of course, or you can take on a simple fundraising challenge – whether that is a bake sale, community event, sponsored walk or something completely different."

The charity has built 55 schools since 2004.
