Three men have been arrested and two stolen vehicles recovered by police after a report of suspicious activity in Hitchin at the weekend.
A member of the public spotted unusual activity around a parked car in Ruskin Lane on Saturday and called police.
On arrival, officers found two stolen Range Rovers, while a third vehicle was later located in Ickleford with its three occupants arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles.
PC Michael Hoare, of the North Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Thanks to an eagle-eyed member of the public, two stolen vehicles have been recovered and returned to their owners.
"If you see suspicious behaviour, please do report it. On this occasion it has resulted in three arrests."
The three men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
