A boy has been arrested following a report of an altercation involving a knife at Stevenage Charter Fair.
Police were told that a knife had been seen during an altercation between a small group of males at the High Street's charter fair on Monday last week.
The police said that "fast time enquiries" were carried out and a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a pointed or bladed article in a public place.
No one was hurt during the incident and no property was reported as being stolen.
The boy has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Police are now appealing for information and witnesses.
PC Peter Day, who is investigating, said: "We take reports of this nature very seriously and officers worked quickly to make an arrest.
"Our enquiries are continuing at this time and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
"The area was busy at the time, so it’s likely that a number of people saw what happened. If you can help, please get in touch."
