A pair of trainers worth upwards of £800 have been stolen from the window of a charity shop in Letchworth.

Police are investigating after a pair of size 6 beige Balenciaga trainers were stolen from Jackie's Drop-in charity shop on Station Road on Thursday, May 2.

The charity shop supports Jackie's Drop-in Centre, which was founded in 2012 by Jackie Nealon and provides recreational activities for people with disabilities.

Jackie said: "The theft is gutting. The money from the trainers could have gone towards helping other people. How dare he steal them?

"I'm constantly working to make money to help the centre, and we really didn't need this."

A spokesperson for Herts police said: "Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/34720/24.

"You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report or speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact.
