Three council-owned garages in Stevenage will live on after plans to demolish them were withdrawn.
A private developer had submitted a planning application with a view to buying and demolishing the garages, situated between 184 and 186 Bedwell Crescent.
Before scrapping the plans, they were hoping to build a three-bedroom house.

It would have included a driveway for three cars and a large rear garden.
The land and garages at the front of the site - which are all currently let - would have needed to be bought from the council for the development to go ahead.
Stevenage Borough Council previously confirmed there had been "negotiations with the applicant".
