Police in Stevenage have prohibited a vehicle from being used until its windows are no longer tinted.
Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit stopped the offending Mercedes in Stevenage at the weekend.
Using a tint meter, they found that the tinted windows on the vehicle were only allowing 17 per cent of light through, significantly lower than the legally required minimum of 70 per cent.
Officers reported the driver, and prohibited the vehicle until the defect is rectified.
