Three Rivers District Council has offered no objection to the proposed construction of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in a disused playing field in Croxley Green.
Plans to build the school in the former Durrants School field, next to Little Green Junior School, are currently being considered by Hertfordshire County Council.
If the application is accepted, Abbots Langley's Breakspeare School would relocate to the new site and see a large boost in numbers.
In 2022, before the move was proposed, Breakspeare School offered places for 97 students. If the move goes ahead, the institution will offer 210 places.
The proposed school would have 137 full-time staff and a wide catchment area. The site would contain 145 parking spaces, 18 disabled parking spaces, and six school mini-bus parking spaces.
A new multi-use games facility would also be created at the site.
Despite Three Rivers council offering no objection to the plans, 12 public comments and objections were made to the application on the council's planning portal.
One objection, from a resident of Manor Way, reads: "The entrance in Manor Way is not suitable, this is a residential cul-de-sac.
"The area will end up being one grid-locked car park during school start/finish times with traffic queuing in this built-up residential area."
Another comment, again from a resident of Manor Way, added: ":We are against the access of the new school to be through Manor Way.
"Manor Way is a quiet cul-de-sac and is not intended to be a through road for a major school which would require many, many journeys in and out of the school each day."

Final plans for 210-pupil school Breakspeare School revealed
A petition to re-think the school's access arrangements was launched by county councillor Chris Lloyd on Wednesday, April 3.
The petition has gathered 133 signatures so far.
The plans for the new school can be viewed on the Three Rivers District Council planning portal using reference 24/0352/HCR3, and on Hertfordshire County Council's planning portal using reference PL/0388/24.
