Proposals have been put together for a furniture workshop to be created on the site of a lottery fraudster's former home.

South Bend, Kings Langley, would be used by furniture company AR18 - currently based in Uxbridge - for a "state of the art" warehouse, workshops, assembly areas and offices.

A two-storey building would be set into the sloping landscape at the site, with a timber structure.

The roofs to the north and west would be covered with living vegetation, with a south roof covered with solar panels.

Around 40 staff are currently employed by AR18, jobs which would be relocated to Kings Langley if proposals are accepted.

South Bend currently features a derelict house which was once the home of lottery fraudster Edward Putman.

In 2019, Putman was sentenced to nine years in prison for scamming Camelot out of a £2.5 million jackpot with a forged ticket.

The home was damaged in a fire in 2022 but the land around it, which Putnam reportedly intended to turn into a hotel, proved to be of interest to developers leading to more than 400 bids at auction.
