Shoppers flock to Iceland's new Food Warehouse store

103 customers waited outside in the early hours to be the first into the highly-anticipated London Road Retail Park supermarket, and get their hands on £1,000 worth of store vouchers.

Those weren't the only prizes given out, with the first 200 shoppers through the checkout getting a free 1.2kg tub of Jelly Beans.

Every customer who joined the queue before 7.45am on Tuesday morning received a free raffle ticket which saw two winners take home a Salter NutriPro, two more receive a Tower Air Fryer and an additional three customers win a JML hamper.

"We’re so pleased to welcome Hemel Hempstead shoppers to our brand new The Food Warehouse store," said store manager Daryl Cruickshank.

"Everyone was so excited for the grand opening – people were even in the queue from 4am in the morning. If you haven’t been down yet, make sure to check out our brand-new store and get your hands on some unmissable bargains."

Kristian Barrett, group retail director at Iceland Foods, added: "We’re thrilled to have opened our new Hemel Hempstead store, ensuring even more local residents can get their hands on market-leading deals, alongside a brilliant range of frozen, grocery and fresh foods."
